Popularity rank 1 #351. Scrapbooked EP cover

March 16, 2010

DAN: C'mon, John. We gotta get to rehearsal.
JOHN: Man, EFF rehearsal... I'm working on a cover for our E.P.

DAN: It's got glitter and hearts and... UNICORNS all over it...
JOHN: Yeah... one of the scrapbookers helped me lay it out.

JOHN: Isn't it GREAT? It really captures the raw emotion of our live shows.

DAN: The puffy paint says, "Friendship is: hot cocoa on a cold day."
JOHN: THAT (sniff) THAT is rock music, man.

Popularity rank 2 #36. Writing a classified ad

August 23, 2005

DAN: $25 gets us a ten-word classified ad. So let's see... "Bassist Wanted... for... rock band..."

JOHN: More like "Bassist wanted for harmony-heavt, post-garage, low-to-mid-fi, pre-post-punk, alt-countrified, funk-based, psychadeliphonic, teenage-victory-rock...."

JOHN: "...band."
DAN: OK, so that's... well, we have to a few words, John.

JOHN: Then I dunno, cut "band" or that beginning part. The rest is pretty essential.
DAN: Oh wait... shoot, it says, "Limit: five hyphenated genres."

May 12, 2008

DAN: So let's say I have this cute young guitar student... she's not even THAT young... is it... I mean... is it cool for a teacher to ask out a student?

RONI: Well, Dan, I don't think-
DAN: OK, let me sort of... REPHRASE slightly... let's say I already asked her out... and she's 8 years younger. That's... it's OK, right?

RONI: Dan, I just can't-
DAN: OK! New topic! New SEPARATE topic... Let's say I have two tickets to Forgetting Sarah Marshall tonight...

DAN: 19-year-olds can see R-rated movies, right?

Popularity rank 4 #17. After the breakup

April 5, 2005

JOHN: It's like, she was such a huge part of my life, so it's not just like my girlfriend left me, but my whole life.

JOHN: And so now it's like, what now? Where do I go? It's all gone, my future, I don't even... it's all gone.

DAN: I hear ya, man. It's... you know, it's tough. And whenever you wanna talk, you just let me know.

DAN: We should probably finish this set first though maybe.

Popularity rank 5 #108. Using the band

February 21, 2006

JOHN: I'm concerned about these messages you're getting through the band's MySpace account, Dan.
DAN: Yeah, girls seem to like to message bands....

JOHN: Dan! The account is for the band! For promotion! Not for personal use! There must be separation of church and band!
DAN: Look, John, I--

JOHN: No, YOU look, Dan, OK? MySpace is about music! It's not some cheap dating service!

DAN: John, you and the founder of MySpace are the only people on earth who actually believe that statement.
JOHN: It's me and Tom vs. the world!
